A professional group of lecturers, researchers, and mentors responsible for defining the regulations for the national olympiad round, developing problems, and finalizing results.
IOAI is an annual international olympiad that brings together the world’s top young talents in AI and is designed for high school students under the age of 20.
Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST) is the exclusive accredited organizer of the IOAI selection process in Armenia, coordinating the national selection rounds, preparation programs, transparent evaluation criteria, and the comprehensive preparation of students for participation in the international AI Olympiad.
Phases & Timeline
Format: Online, Kaggle platform
Date: June 01
Duration:
Participants are given 3 problems in each of the following areas: Python programming, mathematics/logic, and machine learning.
The results of this stage do not affect eligibility for the next round or the final evaluation
Format: On-site, Kaggle/Bohrium, CPU-only
Date: June 09
Duration: 3–4 hours
This round is held online in a Kaggle-like competitive environment, without internet access and using only CPU resources. Participants are given 6 tasks: 3 in machine learning (ML) and 3 in informatics, mathematics, or logic.
Format: On-site, Kaggle/Bohrium, with GPU
Date: Dates TBA (June)
Duration: 2 days, 6 hours each day
Participants are given high-difficulty AI problems. This round determines the winners and the candidates for the IOAI national team. Read the Olympiad regulations
Each country may be represented by up to two teams in the Olympiad. The selection of Armenia’s team(s) will be based on the results of the national round. Before the international stage, held in Kazakhstan from August 2–8, participants will go through a preparatory training period with experts.

Participants: Up to 126 teams or countries are expected to participate

Armenia made its first participation in IOAI, represented by four students from Vanadzor who took part in the “AI Generation” program.
